I know how to build a great bird-feeding station because of experience and experiments with my own backyard projects. I know from trial and error what seeds won't cause a mess, what feeders are actually squirrel proof, and how to attract specific types of birds while repelling others. I also know that birds won't mess with a nearby garden, that dogs (my dog for one), aren't bothered by the seeds, and that there's nothing that beats the feeling of watching your feathered friends digging into your well-placed seed and feeders.
Initiate the consultation process by messaging us via our email (Please type initiate or hello to start the process) . We will ask you some questions that we can use to decide what feeders, seed, and setup will be right for your area.
*You can also schedule a $15 Consultation+, where a member of our team will go to your location for an in-person evaluation of the birds and environment, so that we can have a better understanding of what to bring.
Once you've finished the consultation, we can move along to installing the feeders\ for only $35.00 (not including the separate price of the feeders and seed, prices may vary depending on the price range chosen in the consultation)
If you are not seeing birds in the first 14 days of the feeders being up, we will modify the feeder arrangement at no cost to you. If the birds have still not showed up 20 days after the modification (very rarely), we will give a refund of the Installation price, and if applicable, the Consultation+ price
Great! Once birds start to show up at your feeders, we will resupply them (Weekly, every other week, or monthly). We will also clean the feeders twice monthly and preform any necessary repairs and/or replacements for damaged feeders.
The subscription is not required, and you can cancel any time
Prices for the subscription. Subscriptions are by the month, can cover up to 2 feeders
$62/month for weekly refills, feeder cleaning twice a month, and repair and/or replacement for damaged feeders
$45/month for refills every other week, feeder cleaning twice a month, and repair and/or replacement for damaged feeders
$30/month for monthly refill, cleaning once a month, and repair and/or replacement for damaged feeders.
$15 per extra feeder*
*Suet feeders are only an additional $5
Weekly refills are highly recommended if birds are going through seed quickly, as a lack of seed over an extended period of time may cause them to lose interest in the feeders and need to be re-attracted.
We can help you choose the subscription thats right for you depending on amount of birds, feeder size, etc.
We offer hummingbird feeders during the spring (Mar.- May) and fall (Aug.- Oct.) migrations, which will be put out and maintained for $40 a month. Includes nectar and frequent cleanings. Hummingbird feeders are company owned, and our staff take them back at the end of the season.
Spring (Apr.- May) and fall (Sept. - Oct.) migrations are a great time to see your favorite colorful friends! We supply orange feeders for $40 a month, including the oranges and cleaning.
Please note that spring migration is usually more eventful than fall. Both migrations can be hit or miss for feeders. Orange feeders are also taken back at the end of migration.
During the winter, migratory and local birds are especially voracious, and can quickly eat through seed. To help give them a more plentiful supply, we offer larger feeders (with seed included) to sustain them for $40 a month. These feeders are also taken back at the end of the winter migration.
If you would like to try to attract a specific species, use a different feeder, permanently buy a seasonal feeder, or anything in between, please feel free to reach out so we can help.
Seed refills, feeder cleaning, and feeder warranty.
Oriole, hummingbird, and rental feeders provided and supplied with oranges/nectar/seed weekly and cleaned. Rate is monthly
If a feeder is provided, I will resupply the feeder with oranges/nectar/seed and clean the feeder twice montly.
Please reach us at houstonbirdnerds@gmail.com or (832)-870-4059 if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes, you can! You can also provide your own feeder for the seasonal option (Orioles, hummingbirds, and winter) and for $25 dollars we will refill and maintenance it.
Some of the more common year-round visitors are the Northern Cardinal, Blue Jay, House Finch, and House Sparrow
Spring and Fall are some of the most exciting, with the opportunity to attract hummingbirds, orioles, and tanagers, alongside warblers migrating through. Summer is a bit of a rough stretch, with the heat and lack of bird movement making it the least ideal for bird feeding. Winter is my personal favorite, with the opportunity to attract tons of goldfinches, and if your lucky, maybe even a Yellow-Rumped Warbler, Orange-Crowned Warbler, or a Ruby Crowned Kinglet.
Currently we are only serving the ZIP codes 77401, 77027, 77005, 77046, 77098, 77019, and 77056. If you are not in this range, we hope to branch out to you soon.
Hello, and thank you so much for visiting our site! My name is James, and I'm a 15 year old Houstonian and have been an avid birder for the past 6 years. I love the challenge of attracting birds to a backyard feeder, and I'm happy to help you find your neighborhood feathered friends! I got this idea from helping my grandmother turn her backyard into a bird magnet, and hope to be able to do the same for you!
